Affordable high-quality tutoring
We know budgets are tight, so we work to make our programmes as cost-effective as possible for partner schools and colleges. Through continuous improvement and diligent assessment, we continue to offer exceptional value whilst maintaining the highest quality of tutoring.
Progress not profit
As a registered charity, our focus is on delivering impactful tuition, not making a profit. As we enter the new academic year (2024/2025) the funding from the National Tutoring Programme has now ended. We continue to work with generous funders to keep the cost of tuition to schools and colleges as low as possible so we've reduced costs for the second year running.
Continuous Improvement
To help our partners access tuition support for as many of their pupils as need it, we will be giving the option to increase group sizes from 1:3 to 1:4 to all schools in the next academic year. This is based on robust feedback from schools and a successful pilot scheme. The pilot showed that increasing group sizes did not affect our high attainment outcomes.

Frequently asked questions
Absolutely. 1:1 and small group tutoring is a very well-evidenced intervention for accelerating progress for Pupil Premium pupils. Tutor Trust's work is supported by evidence from a large-scale randomised control trial (RCT) conducted by the Educational Endowment Foundation. Partnering with us is an effective way to maximise Pupil Premium funding and provide targeted academic support to your pupils boosting literacy and numeracy.
We are keen to work with schools with high levels of Pupil Premium funding, so that we can reach more young people who need tuition support and create greater equity in the education system.
Yes, of course! Our maximum group size is 1:4. Research evidence around small group tutoring indicates that groups of three or four students leads to a greater acceleration of pupil progress than larger groups. Our own randomised control trial, which found pupils receiving maths tutoring made three months additional progress compared with peers, was based on group sizes of 1:3. We have piloted 1:4 programmes over 2023/2024 and found that the impact on the individual learner has been as positive as 1:3. This has enabled schools to increase group sizes without lessening the impact of our programmes.
